![]() ![]() I know there is now the 'sidecar' functionality, but I'm talking about using the iPad INSTEAD of a display, not as well as. Or I'm hopeful that I might be able to connect my Mac mini directly to the iPad Air. I will then either need to find a compatible display / keyboard (as I draw the line at taking those with me). Although not ideal I have a trip coming up and will perhaps have to take my Mac mini with me. But that doesnt make any sense and he doesnt elaborate much. The post said he somehow used a bluetooth keyboard to get the sidecar function to work without a primary display. However, there are a few things that I only have on my Mac mini that I may need access to (I believe I can access files using OneDrive, but there is one application that only works on my Mac mini - I don't think remote access is a viable option). But theres a reddit video of a guy who used an iPad as a monitor for an Mac Airbook (that had a busted screen) with sidecar somehow. I think it can do most things I need (especially with addition of magic keyboard). In the meantime I planned on using the iPad Air when on the road. iPad mini still suffers from display spacing issues, and ProMotion is. Each group of four is a localized dimming zone. At some point (maybe after 10 November event?!) The entire rear of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro display houses a layer of over 10,000 mini LEDs as a backlight. I had a MacBook Pro for when I was on the road, but have just given that away. I normally use a Mac mini with 27" LG display. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival on a new iPad Air. ![]()
